This month's box was inspired by summer, and contains a few summer essentials. If you guys aren't familiar with Glossybox it is a monthly subscription service which costs £10.00 plus p&p, and they said you an array of products every month, ranging from beauty to skincare to haircare. It has been over a year now since I have been subscribed to Glossybox, and I have to admit the products can be amazing, or disappointing, I guess it's just a gamble. However due to my embarrassing obsession with all things beauty, I am still currently subscribed to Glossybox.
The box always come in the signature pink box, with a pink bow and black tissue paper.
June is supposed to be the start of summer, however in the UK we cant seem to see that! Nonetheless the box is inspired by the summer, and helps you cater your collection for the summer months.
This is the first product, it is a cult product by the brand NUXE, a brand which I have not heard of yet (the main point of getting these boxes is to be introduced to new products and brands). The actual colour is very similar to my (Ananya) natural skin tone, but if you rub it in it shouldn't change your actual skin tone just add some glitter. Unfortunately I am not brave enough to try it in my hair, and I don't plan to, but it is a nice body glitter that you could use when you are all tanned up for summer or when you are going out for a special event. NUXE, has there own website, which is www.nuxe.co.uk and you can get an 100ml bottle for £34.00, but trust me a little does go a long way. Unfortunately the bottle does not have a pump, you just pour a little into your hand and apply it onto the area you want to. The booklet which comes with the box, says that the oil does a good job at strengthening and hydrating your hair, which seems quite interesting. You are suppose to massage into dry hair and leave it in a towel for 15 to 20 minutes then wash it out using your normal shampoo, this actually does quite intrigue me, and I may try it on a day where I am just lounging about! I do have to admit I am not very keen on the smell, and it does linger on your body, unfortunately I am awful at describing scents, but it smells a bit chocolatey and sweet.
I was so happy when I saw I received this product, even though I know a lot about the brand Helen E cosmetics it has been a while since I have tried anything new. But the main reason I was so excited is that my dress for prom is blue and silver and the silver shimmer is just perfect for the eyes and maybe even the cheek bones. The shimmer is very finely milled powder, so you would look like a disco ball, sorry if that is what you wanted. However the shimmer is perfect for the days where you don't to put much make-up on, it would just add a little sparkle to a look. The product is in number 24 and can be bought from www.helen-e.com for only £5 but I am sure especially in the UK you can find Helen E cosmetics in other stores for example Debenhams.
As you may know I really hate artificial cherry smells, so I wasn't very excited about this product. However the smell isn't too overpowering, and it is a perfect pink tint for your lips. Even though it says it is a lip balm, the company recommends it for elbows and cuticles also, however as it has a pink tint and is very thick, I personally don't recommend it. I have heard of this company before, when previously Glossybox sent a Figs & Rouge lip balm. However this is much different to the other lip balm. This has more of gel consistency, and it can be applied from the tube or using your fingers. A 12.5ml tube is £5 and can be found from www.feelunique.com (a very trustworthy website). This lip tint would be a perfect for a warm summer day, where you just want minimal makeup.
(Sorry the picture isn't great it is hard to take a picture at night :P) MONU is a brand Glossybox put in their boxes quite often, to be honest I am yet to be wowed by their products. None the less the small sizes are good for travelling and I will use up the sample size. MONU have their own website where you can check out any other their products. The website is www.monushop.co.uk and a 50ml bottle will cost £29.95. The moisturiser has a lemoney sent much like the White Company Lemon and Lime scent if you are familiar with it, that is one of the main reasons I like this product in particularly. It still is very moisturising, and will help dry skin, but is recommended for all skin types.
MeMeMe Cosmetics, is a up and coming brand which I'm starting to hear a lot more about. Previously one of the boxes contained a MeMeMe highlighter which I absolutely love and I have recently seen MeMeMe in boots even though they have their own website (www.mememecosmetics.co.uk). This nail polish is a lovely off white colour and I thought it would be amazing on the nails under a colour to make it pop or on its own. However the nail polish is very sheer and is not build-able to make opaque, none the less you can use this nail polish on top of a colour to make it look creamy, or use it as a base for a french manicure. However I am not sure I would spend £5 for this nail polish, but I still really like it.
